Happy Father's Day!

To all of the Fathers in my life and in yours Thank You! We Love you Dads! Happy Father’s Day!

Thank You!

Thank you to all of the seamstress that have offered their talent to help test the Smart Pocket. I am putting all of the information together to create the perfect pattern. It is amazing how much faster the process gets each time I write a new pattern. I have not emailed anyone back yet. (So don’t worry, if you have not received a reply.) Just because the Smart Pocket pattern is not completed yet and I have been busy testing it and taking pictures. I plan to have it ready by June 27, 2011 (if not sooner) and let you know if you are a tester by then. If you are not asked to be a tester for the Smart Pocket Pattern, don’t worry I have many other patterns coming out soon to test. I am sure to need more help. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have such amazing blogger friends who are willing to help and have a little fun! My goal is to have the Smart Pocket Pattern available in my Etsy shop by July 4th, 2011!! Don’t forget, next week is the amazing giveaway with Fabric Shoppe

Interview with Jody from Fabric Shoppe

Sew Spoiled: Please tell us more about yourself. Jody: A little about me...I am married to my best friend who by trade is a pastor. We have 2 girls age1 and 3. {{whew, yes I am busy!}} Since I was little I have had a deep love for creating and handmade! I took a quilt class at a local college and found that I love the possibility that a piece of fabric holds. Sew Spoiled: Why did you decide to start Fabric Shoppe? Jody: I started the Fabric Shoppe on Etsy back in 2008 after frustrating searches for modern fabric for my handmade business. The Shoppe has since grown and I LOVE LOVE LOVE being a part of the online creative community! Sew Spoiled: Do you have a blog? Where can we find you online? Jody: I blog at Everyday Beautiful ! Where we feature tutorials, customers creations, general crafty goodness and inspiration. One of my biggest honors was being invited to Marta Stewarts Bloggers Party this past year for Everyday Beautiful You can also follow me on Facebook or Twitte

The Smart Pocket!

This is the Smart Pocket, it is a padded pocket for your smart phone with an armband and key fob. If you want to exercise, do an errand or just keep your phone by your side you can easily wear it in three stylish ways. The zipper closure keeps your device protected from dirt and grime. The snap exterior pocket can hold your cards or money. This pattern design will give you a template and a sizing chart so you can customize the pocket for your own smart device. The Smart Pocket pattern needs to be tested and I am looking for 3 (or more) wonderful people who are gifted in the field of sewing and can give me some criticism! If you are interested please email me at leah.sewspoiled@gmail.com . Please let me know if you are interested! Happy Sewing!

Your Sew Spoiled!

I love receiving pictures like these! These were sent to me from Jo at Angle Quilts . Great job with the zippers and handles. I love this fabric, it is called Star Flower Tiles from Amy Butler’s Nigella Collection . Early this week on Amy Butler’s Facebook page she asked what was our favorite collection from her fabrics. My favorite is the Nigella Collection! I think it is great that Jo now has a beautiful customized laptop sleeve . You do realize Jo, you will be asked to make more of these for friends. LOL Great Job! Thank you for sharing. If you know how to access Flickr please join our Flickr group, Flickr: your Sew Spoiled projects! If you want to email me at leah.sewspoiled@gmail.com like Jo did, I will gladly share them too. Happy Sewing!

New Sew Spoiled Shoulder Bag Prototype

This is my new shoulder bag design! I am looking for a new bag name! If you have a bag name suggestion please share your thoughts. I love the shape and wave at the bottom of the bag. The possibilities of fabric color combinations are endless! I am still working on getting all of the details right but the templates are done! I plan to carry my new shoulder bag with me on all of my summer adventures. The outer shell is made of Soul Blossom by Amy Butler, Buttercups in Cyan. The lining is the lemon fabric I found earlier this week on sale at Target as a tablecloth. I am so glad that I rescued it from being a tablecloth, now it will be toted around and adored by bag lovers everywhere! Happy Sewing!

Scallop Hat by Very Purple Person

I found this beautiful fabric on sale at Target. This table cloth measuring 60”X84” was marked at $9.00 but was on sale for $6.95! I had to buy it! As soon as I saw this bright lemon fabric I knew exactly what to make with it. I have been following Grosgrain: Free Pattern Month and on day 21 Native from verypurpleperson shared the Scallop Hat Tutorial . I cut everything out and traced the seam allowance. If I had it to do over I would practice stitching the lining cap first and then make the outer shell cap second. It looked like a spaceship at this point, turning the rim right side out. It is a fun hat to wear. Thank you Novita for sharing this tutorial and all of your sewing adventures with us! You are so amazing! “Tut-tut It looks like rain!” Happy Sewing!
